REGIONAL METEOROLOGICAL CENTRE NEW DELHI was started in April 1945 and has its Meteorological office at Safdarjung Airport for Non-Aviation and Meteorological Office at IGI Airport for Aviation purposes to cater the meteorological requirements of the states "Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttranchal" through different meteorological centres in the region.
