DAILY WEATHER REPORT

FOR DELHI, CHANDIGARH, PUNJAB, HARYANA, HIMACHAL PRADESH,

JAMMU AND KASHMIR, RAJASTHAN, UTTAR PRADESH AND UTTARAKHAND

SATURDAY 04 FEBRUARY 2012 (15 MAGHA, 1933 SAKA)

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 0830 HOURS IST:

         Cold wave conditions have abated from east Uttar Pradesh.

RAINFALL:

                 Rain/snow has occurred at many places over Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places over Himachal Pradesh. Rain/thundershowers have occurred at isolated places over Haryana. Weather was mainly dry over the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cm are: HIMACHAL PRADESH: Manali 2 and Saloni 1 and JAMMU AND KASHMIR: Banihal, Pahalgam and Kupwara 2 each and Batote and Gulmarg 1 each.
MINIMUM TEMPERATURE:

                The minimum temperatures rose in west Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. They were appreciably above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, west Rajasthan and Uttarakhand, above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and east Rajasthan, below normal in east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest minimum temperature in the plains was 06.6șC recorded at Banda (Uttar Pradesh).

FORECAST VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 06th FEBRUARY 2012:

Rain/snow would occur at many places over Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand. Rain/thundershowers would occur at isolated places over Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh (including Delhi), north Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry over the rest of the region.

HEAVY RAIN/SNOW FALL WARNING:

            Heavy rain/snow is likely at a few places over Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places over Uttarakhand during the next 48 hours. Hailstorm may occur at one or two places over Haryana, Punjab, north Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh during the next 48 hours.

OUTLOOK FOR THE SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:

Decrease in precipitation activity over the region.
